Lake District Activities in and near Keswick

Rosthwaite is located in the Northern Lake District just 7 miles from Keswick. The village is situated in the Borrowdale Valley at the southern end of Derwentwater. Whilst Rosthwaite remains a relatively quiet village all the year around, the nearby town of Keswick attracts a wide range of visitors. With its variety of shops, restaurants, cafes and galleries, a cinema, leisure centre, museum and well reputed theatre, there is much to see and do. You can take a gentle stroll through one of the beautiful town parks, or visit the Derwentwater lake shore project where you can hire rowing boats or take a launch around the lake.

The Northern Lake District is a haven for walkers and those who enjoy ‘the great outdoors’. There are many available activities in the area, for all ages and abilities, including cycling, horse riding, water sports, fishing, bird watching and golf.
