Location of Thwaite How Cottage & Map of Borrowdale
Thwaite How cottage is situated in the hamlet of Rosthwaite in the heart of Borrowdale Valley. Borrowdale is one of the most picturesque areas in the Lake District consisting of dramatic Lake District fells protecting a lush and green valley floor. Rosthwaite is approximately seven miles from the Lakeland market town of Keswick on Derwentwater.

From Keswick take the B5289 signposted Borrowdale. This lovely route runs beside Derwentwater. Go past the village of Grange-in-Borrowdale and through the 'Jaws of Borrowdale' then the valley suddenly opens out and presents you with stunning views of the valley. Rosthwaite is the next hamlet. When you pass the 'Rosthwaite sign', take your next right turn (opposite the shop). Drive to the top of this road and there is a very sharp turn left. Follow this round then take the next left turn. Thwaite How is situated down the lane on your left.
